MULTI-HYPHENATE ARTIST: PERFORMER. CHOREOGRAPHER. EDUCATOR. THEATRICAL HUMAN.
Most notably, Ariana was selected as the 2023-2024 SDCF Choreography Shadow for MOULIN ROUGE! Broadway. She had the privilege to observe Camden Gonzales (Associate Choreographer) during the U.S. national touring company’s rehearsals in NYC. Currently, Ariana is represented as a 3x grant recipient (prev. Mertz Gilmore Foundation, NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs) with subsidized funding by the Howard Gilman Foundation and focused on creating new dance stories. While in NYC, Ariana can be found on faculty at Mark Morris Dance Center & East Side Dance Company. Additionally, she is a guest teaching artist for other studios across the boroughs and dance adjudicator on the competition circuit.
Ariana earned her B.A. in Theatre Arts (summa cum laude) from SUNY New Paltz. During this time, her journey of choreographing her own work was championed by a dear mentor, Joe Langworth. Ariana’s acting training centered on Meisner, Stanislavski, & Stella Adler techniques and her vocal training was heavily rooted in musical theatre with secondary studies in the Italian aria (Florence University of the Arts). As a performer, Ariana has worked in regional theatre, commercial dance, and NYC-based projects with creatives like Al Blackstone, Billy Griffin, Jena VanElslander, & Yancy Greene.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WORKING TOGETHER:
A lot of energy & laughs; many cups of coffee in her sustainable Yeti mug; and a human being who wants to make the world better through the arts.
